Prozac side effects

Prozac, manufactured by Eli Lilly, is one of a range of antidepressant medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs. Nearly everyone knows someone who is taking Prozac. Prozac can improve mood and decrease anxiety.

Although its initial indications were only for depression, Prozac is also widely used for a number of other conditions, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and social phobias. Prozac does not start working right away. It takes several weeks for the drug to build up in the bloodstream and start affecting serotonin.

The most frequent complaint about Prozac is nausea; you may not feel very hungry for the first few days. More serious worries were also raised about possible links between Prozac and suicide, and violent and aggressive behaviour. The risk of a suicide attempt among patients given Prozac was twice that of those who did not. People that suffered serious side effects after taking file Prozac lawsuit against the makers of Prozac.
