Cleaning concrete basement


Most of basement have concrete floor. Cocrete is a mixture of cement and aggregates of various size. Cleaning and maintaining the basement is much like cleaning and maintaining any other part of the house.

To improve the appearance of concrete floors, start by sweeping or vacuuming followed by a good scrubbing with a cleaning solution plus a brush. You can add the cleaning agent if more cleaning power is needed. Most of cleaning agent for concrete floor is made of ammonia solution. With older concrete, try mixing the cleaning agent into a paste with talcum powder, whiting or similar.

When you use cleaning solution, read and follow the directions carefully. Make sure there is adequate ventilation in the basment, and wear protective equipment such as, acid-proof gloves, respirator, and safety glasses.
